The Life Pillars app, associated with this website, describes the likely dominant forces of a person’s personality arising from the ‘state of the cosmos’ at the time of birth. To do this, it uses the principles of the ancient Chinese tradition of Bazi 八字 (‘eight characters’) or Sizhu 四柱 (‘four pillars). This technique allows us to study, according to ancient cosmology, the state of balance (or imbalance) between the five phases (or ‘elements’) at the moment of birth.
By entering Elon Musk’s birth data into the app, we first obtain the following information:

Note that, to be precise, Chinese zodiac signs are not used as interpretative factors in the Bazi technique. What appears in the Bazi cards are the earthly branches dizhi 地支, which are interpreted according to the elements that go into their composition and not the symbolism of the zodiac signs to which they correspond. However, for better communication, it is now common practice to designate the earthly branches by the names of the signs.

SOME TECHNICAL NOTES

The Day Master, identified in the Life Pillars app as ‘Personal Element’, is the center of the Bazi map, somewhat similar to the rising sign of Western astrology. Elon Musk’s Day Master is Yang Wood jia 甲, as indicated by the Life Pillars app.
Secondly comes the cosmic season of birth, which is decisive in knowing whether the Day Master is ‘strong’ or ‘weak’.
Elon Musk was born in the month of the Horse (earthly branch wu 午), therefore, during the ‘summer’ of the old solar calendar, which appears in the Agricultural Calendar, nongli 农历. This cosmic ‘summer’, between the 6th of May and the 7th of August, approximately, includes the months of the Snake (earthly branch si 巳), the Horse (earthly branch wu 午) and the Goat (earthly branch wei 未).
This period of the year corresponds to the Chinese element huo 火 (Fire). Now, according to the Principle of Generation, Wood generates Fire (from ‘summer’) and, when generating this element, it becomes ‘weakened’, since it loses part of its own energy.
Therefore, the Day Master’s Wood needs the energy (qi 气) of the elements that strengthen it, in order to regain its primordial balance. These elements are, at least potentially, Water, which generates and feeds Wood; and Wood itself, which assists the Day Master.
On the other hand, the fact that Elon Musk was born at the time of year when Fire is dominant makes his chart ‘hot’, in Bazi jargon. Due to this condition, the Bazi chart needs to be ‘cooled’ by the Water element. This is yet another reason to make this last element decisive for the proper functioning of the chart and, consequently, of Elon Musk’s life.
